About Hannah

I started Greater Than to ensure that I am able to use all of my varied strengths and skill sets to help you discover and develop yours. Simply put, few things make me happier than connecting with and guiding people in their evolution as designers, and I want to show up for you in the most meaningful way possible . . . in a way that doesn’t compromise my values — personal or professional!

I have an MFA in graphic design from the Tyler School of Art, Temple University (‘12) and a bachelors in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia (‘07). To this day, my writing and design skills are best of friends and cross-inform each other more often than not.

I’ve been teaching in some capacity since 2013. I started with online instruction via Academy of Art University based in San Francisco and then began in-person teaching at the University of Minnesota, Twin-Cities (2015 –2022), and at Perpich Center for Arts Education (2015–17).

I’ve worked as an art director and designer for city magazines and as a designer/creative at a couple of agencies in Minneapolis. I also take freelance work when it’s a good fit. I most recently completed a huge board game project called Three Days on Callisto as well as designed the inaugural print annual for AIA Minnesota’s Enter magazine.

In my free time, I hang out with my 5-year-old daughter, Piper Lee, and my husband Trent who is also a designer — we met in grad school!  I have three pets — two dogs and a cat.
